I'm Laura B., the breeder behind Star Australian Shepherds located in Lake Ann, MI. I breed show dogs, for myself, but they must also be the best companion dogs, for my customers. My pups are extremely smart, biddable and can excel in all venues of the dog world which ranges from being your best friend to your best athlete, all the while loving you as no dog has ever done before!
Q. & A. with Laura
Why did you start breeding?
I bought my first dog from the #1 breeder in the world, to have just one litter. That turned into a love and passion for the breed. I wanted to produce puppies that met the breed standard, giving me the best show dogs but also to allow others to have the opportunity to experience the amazingness of this breed. Striving to produce the best and healthiest Australian Shepherd is a privilege.
What makes your program special?
I offer the best health guarantee of any breeder, a 6 YEAR CANCER REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. I put this into my health contract after having people come to me for a puppy when their pup, from other breeders, died of cancer at a very young age. It's very important for me to always be there for my customers. I feed my dogs a raw diet which improves their immune system and hopefully their pups too!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
