I'm Leah H., the breeder behind Star Garnet Pups located in Emmett, ID. We focus on the proper development of all our puppies because we know that each one is unique and deserving of undivided love and attention. Each puppy is bred, raised, and loved indoors to ensure health, happiness, and harmony at the start of its life. With our pups, beauty is a given, but producing healthy, loving, and versatile dogs are our true goal.
Q. & A. with Leah
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding because I felt that I had found dogs that met the criteria I had been searching for: great companion dogs that get along with others and are calm or have a great off switch. I want to share these kinds of dogs with people to help them enjoy great companion dogs as well.
What makes your program special?
Our program is based in our home with the puppies being raised with methods from puppy culture as well as daily with young kids. Involving my kids in raising the puppies benefits my kids by teaching them important skills, and teaches the puppies how to act around kids.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Star Garnet Pups reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Aussiedoodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
