Meet the breeder

I'm Pam G., the breeder behind State Line Dachshunds located in Quincy, IL. With the help of my mentor we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. I began breeding years ago when my husband was still alive and decided to revisit that passion that we once shared together.

Q. & A. with Pam

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding years ago when my husband was still alive and decided to revisit that passion that we once shared together. We used to breed Dalmatians, and as much as I would have loved to breed those again, my friend's dachshund won me over and I couldn't resist adding some to my life.
  • What makes your program special?

My puppies are raised around other dogs, and children. They are raised with ENS and started on potty training before heading home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black, chocolate, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

To say the least, Pam was amazing person to connect with to find our new puppy! I have nothing but appreciation and gratitude for Pam. When I started to look for puppies, I reached out to Pam and shared information about me and my husband. Pam was very responsive right away and answered any questions we did have and explained the adoption process. How payments work, and she kept us updated on our puppy’s vet appointments. She was also flexible on a date for us to pick up our puppy as well. She was able to help us meet half way for a pick up point. Overall, if you’re looking for a puppy please work with Pam and State Line Dachshund you will not be disappointed!

My experience with Pam was excellent!!! She was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. She answered my (many) questions and send videos and pictures when I asked for them! She sent all the paperwork and a very generous goodie bag home with Olive! I would recommend Pam to anyone looking for their new furry friend!

Our sweet girl Daisy (now “Winky”) is a wonderful addition to our family. Shes so cute and calm and has the most personable demeanor. Shes so non-aggressive, so mild mannered, and so good with other dogs and people of all ages. She wasn’t a super treat -motivated gal, so it took us a bit to house train her, but she’s a really well behaved dog now and has been a sweetheart since day 1. Pam was super responsive always, clearly demonstrates love and care for her dogs, and she made sure to load us up with food and goodies and toys and medicines and all the basic stuff we could have needed as new puppy owners. Winky is a wonderful dog and we are so grateful to Pam for choosing us to be her people.

Hi Pam, we named our little girl Winnie and she is settling in well at home in Alaska. We completed the medications we had been given for her cough. The cough never worsened and is still there intermittently. She’s been playful, eating, drinking, and going potty fine. Getting the supplements and food you recommended. We had a chest x-ray done and it showed that her heart is so enlarged that it’s pushing on her trachea. We are awaiting a cardiologist consult. We are hopeful that it’s something that can be managed for her to have a good quality of life.
