I'm Julie S., the breeder behind Steele's Lone Oak Labradors located in Big Lake, AK. Having Labrador Retrievers in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!

Why did you start breeding?
My husband is a 3rd generation raiser of labs. I am a life long animal lover and have raised all kinds of critters. We have really awesome dogs and just want to share them with others.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs live in our home and are a part of the family. They have their own bunk beds. Our labs are very calm but so smart. We have pups that have excelled at search and rescue, avalanche rescue, bird hunting, hiking buddy , family companion.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI), Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
