Q. & A. with Cathy
Why did you start breeding?
My Father introduced us to breeding Cairns when I was a child. We grew up in Memphis, but have a family farm in the country that our ancestors homesteaded. Animals and "growing things" was just in our blood. Fortunately, we had the resources and expertise (my Father an OBGYN and Uncle a vet), to excel in breeding programs whether it was in Beefmaster cattle operation at the farm or with our dogs.
What makes your program special?
I'm a strong advocate for purebred preservation, and despite the fact that we are semi-retired now with grandchildren, I am committed to continue breeding to make sure quality Cairns that can compete on the world stage of dog shows, with excellent temperaments and the highest health practices are preserved for the future.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
