Meet the breeder

I'm Megen M., the breeder behind Storm Shine Australian Shepherds located in Greeneville, TN. I’m Megen M., the breeder behind StormShine Australian Shepherds, located in Greeneville, Tennessee. My focus is preserving the Australian Shepherd breed standard by thoughtfully raising structurally sound, correct puppies with stable, confident temperaments. I am deeply committed to producing healthy, happy Australian Shepherds and take great pride in the care, planning, and intention behind my breeding program. Our dogs are shown in conformation, and we also actively compete in performance sports such as dock diving and Fast CAT. They excel not only in the ring and in sport, but also as devoted, well-rounded companions. At StormShine, we breed only dogs we believe are exemplary representations of the breed—dogs who will positively contribute to their lineage and to the families who welcome them into their homes. Our dogs are first and foremost family, and their well-being always comes first. We care deeply about every puppy we produce and are dedicated to ensuring they are placed in homes where they will be loved, valued, and supported for a lifetime.

Q. & A. with Megen

  • Why did you start breeding?

I made the decision to begin a responsible, in-home breeding program with the goal of producing quality Australian Shepherds that excel as working dogs while also thriving as deeply loved family companions. This journey has been a deeply personal passion and a lifelong dream—one rooted in sharing love and joy through this incredible breed while preserving and honoring the Australian Shepherd standard. My journey with Australian Shepherds began in 2003, when I welcomed my very first Aussie into my life—a blue merle female named Shiner. She wasn’t just a dog; she was my heart. When I lost her, I truly believed I would never be able to open my heart to another Australian Shepherd again. For many years, our home was without an Aussie. While we loved and cherished several other breeds along the way, a part of my heart always belonged to the Australian Shepherd. Choosing to welcome this breed back into our home has been one of the most fulfilling decisions we’ve ever made. Our lives are once again full—bright, busy, and overflowing with joy in a way only an Aussie can bring. When it came time to choose a name for our program, we wanted something meaningful—something that honored our journey and paid tribute to our first girl. StormShine represents the reminder Shiner left with us: that after every storm, the sun will, in time, always come out to shine.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs and puppies are cherished members of our family, and they receive the very best care we can provide. We are deeply committed to raising confident, well-rounded puppies who are prepared to thrive in their future homes. Everything we do is guided by integrity, intention, and a genuine love for this breed. We believe in transparency and open communication. From health testing and pedigrees to temperament, energy levels, and overall disposition, we strive to share as much information as possible upfront so families can make informed, confident decisions. At StormShine Aussies, we invest extensive time and research into health, temperament, and pedigrees. Our pairings are thoughtfully planned to produce sound, healthy puppies, and we are extremely selective in choosing the dogs that become part of our program. We feel our Aussies represent a balanced combination of both show and working lines. While genetics are important, we also recognize they are only part of the picture. Nutrition, environment, early socialization, and proper care all play a vital role in a dog’s overall health and development—and we are committed to providing those foundations from the very beginning.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
