I'm Kelsey S., the breeder behind Stormy River Retrievers located in Richfield, UT. Hi there! We're Kelsey & Derek. We live in a small rural community in Utah where we both grew up and now raise our family here. We have a deep understanding of their temperament, behavior, and health needs, which anyone would be proud to call their own.

Why did you start breeding?
We started breeding because we've always loved labs, and hunting waterfowl. They have such amazing temperaments and abilities, and I wanted to help preserve and improve those qualities while sharing them with other families. Our goal has always been to raise puppies that are strong, happy and well-adjusted.What makes your program special?
One thing that sets us apart is our commitment to health. All of our breeding dogs go through extensive health testing- including hips, elbows, eyes and other genetic testing- so we can ensure we're raising puppies with the best possible start in life. We believe healthy parents mean healthy puppies, and that's non-negotiable for us!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

“Price varies depending on the breeding. Some breeding's are much riskier and the stud fee can range a lot. . All deposits are non-refundable. If we can not provide the choice of color and sex that was stated at the time of deposit, then the deposit can be transferred to another litter.”

Litter update on 15 Nov. 2025 •…Today was a big day for the pups. It’s a beautiful day outside so the pups got to explore outside for a bit and loved it! They got a first de wormer dose and microchipped. They are doing so good, living their best life with a full time milk bar.

Chip is the direct son of FC AFC Hockley Creek's Switch Hitter. He is black and carries the hidden yellow gene. Chip currently has two JH test passes. He went 2/2. He has a calm demeanor and is a lover. He has the biggest heart and is a pleaser. He has an exceptional amount of health clearances and is clear on them all.

Flashy boy is such a sweet boy. He is a big lover and a goofball. He loves to play and retrieve. He comes from a great background of well known champion dogs. He has 14 pages worth of health clearances and clear on them. This will be flash’s first litter and we are super excited to watch these pups grow. We have no doubt they will be just as great as he is!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
