I'm Kelly M., the breeder behind SugarBug Pugs located in Saginaw, MI. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies. Let's see if a Pug is the right dog for you!
Note: Breeders are advised against breeding out the S haplotype, because 40% of Pug Dogs have the associated risk haplotype, with 29% being heterozygous (N/S) and 11% being homozygous (S/S). Eliminating the S haplotype will lead to a considerable loss of genetic diversity. Therefore, breeders should carefully select matings that do not produce S/S puppies.
Q. & A. with Kelly
Why did you start breeding?
Our beloved Rizzo passed away at the young age of 4 after suffering status epilepticus. It broke our hearts and we have tried to ensure that the pugs are healthy and will not happen to another family. We have had our pugs DNA/health tested.
What makes your program special?
The love and attention our pups receive. This is about extending the love and joy we receive from our pugs to another family.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
