I'm Summer N., the breeder behind Summertime Kennels located in Joshua, TX. All of our dogs are a part of the family and live in the home with us! We raise our puppies in our home around the chaos that is our family so the puppies get familiar with adults of all ages, children of all ages, cats and other dogs big and small. We look forward to getting to know you!
Q. & A. with Summer
Why did you start breeding?
I have been breeding for over 20 years, I was with another large breed before but papillons have a special place in my heart. They are smart, loving and very eager to please. This breed does amazing in the show ring, for agility or just a loving family pet.
What makes your program special?
Being able to produce quality pups with the utmost standard of care is our mission. We start early neurological stimulation 3 days after birth as well as follow the badass breeder whelping practices. We also monitor temperaments and development as well. We keep track of all of our pups we produce so we can track the progress of every pup as the years go by and ensure we are improving the breed!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
