I'm Shelley M., the breeder behind SunMagic Clumber Spaniels located in Hillsborough, NC. In addition to our careful attention to genetic selection and health testing, we provide appropriate social and behavioral development. All our pups receive in-home, hands-on care with early socialization and temperament, and performance testing at 7 weeks. All litters are AKC registered and puppies are sold on contract.

Why did you start breeding?
We began our involvement with Clumber Spaniels in 2006 where we had the opportunity to learn from several established breeders.What makes your program special?
We have continued the Cearig’s line of breeding that has consistently demonstrated in our dogs a remarkable depth of quality and performance, generation after generation. Our small/hobby breeding program is therefore committed to preserving these bloodlines. Our dogs excel in all facets of event competition.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Full Embark Panel, Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Phosphatase 1 Deficiency (PDP1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
