I'm Linnea G., the breeder behind Sunny Shelties located in Princeton, MN. I am dedicated to raising happy, healthy Sheltie puppies in a home environment with individual attention and training. I breed with a focus on temperament, health, structure, intelligence, and willingness to please. The most important part of my program is training and socializing my puppies.
Q. & A. with Linnea
Why did you start breeding?
My parents bred while I was growing up, and it became a passion for me. I competed in the 4H dog project including a few state championship wins. I followed that with teaching 4H classes, and as an adult, I compete in AKC obedience, rally, lure coursing tests, and agility. I have dabbled in conformation, and if I can find the time, I hope to try dock diving, disc dog, and a few other dog sports.
What makes your program special?
I am continually trying to improve my lines by health testing and breeding with high-quality studs. Temperament, health, and socialization are critical to me. I raise my pups with proven methods. I love my dogs and what I do. I truly want what is best for my pups and their future families.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable merle and white, sable and white, blue merle white and tan, blue merle and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent dogs
Brioche, mom
Shetland Sheepdog
About Brioche
High drive, biddable and very quick to learn. Velcro personality, always by my side and very cuddly. Brioche has competed in obedience, rally, agility and lure coursing (FastCAT and CAT). She is very talented and has a variety of titles.
Excellent health testing
Patellar Luxation, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), +7 more.
Moxie, mom
Shetland Sheepdog
About Moxie
Moxie is a sweet puppy from Ghost’s final litter.
She is sweet, smart and a little sassy. She has been a very brave and outgoing puppy and I look forward to a bright future together.
She has already started agility and obedience training and has earned BIS puppy (once) and Reserve Best In Show Puppy (x3) at UKC shows.
Gummy Bear, mom
Shetland Sheepdog
About Gummy Bear
Sweet, loving and intelligent. Very cuddly and loving dog.
I got a late start with her on AKC competitions, but she is competing successfully and placing in agility competitions at 9 years old. Her favorite sport is Fast CAT, and she’s running 19 mph as a senior dog.
Gummy is retired from breeding but still competing in agility and fast cat.
Good health testing
Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), +5 more.
Brûlée, mom
Shetland Sheepdog
About Brûlée
Brûlée is a sweet, cuddly, outgoing girl. Daughter of Brioche and granddaughter of Gummy Bear, Brûlée is a 3rd generation Sunny Sheltie.
Brûlée is a smart girl and had her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Star puppy (STR) titles at just 4 months old!
I’m looking forward to a successful sport career and hopefully some puppies that are just as lovely as their mother.
Ghost, mom
Shetland Sheepdog
About Ghost
Smart sweet, athletic girl. Both parents have AKC championship points though haven’t finished championship due to COVID cancellations and no majors available. Ghost was reserve winners bitch in the only show she competed in (again, COVID caused cancellations). I trained her for a few months as a puppy, returned her to her owner and became a co-owner at almost 2 years of age when she moved back to live with me again. Ghost has been successful in agility and rally among other sports.
Excellent health testing
Patellar Luxation, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), +8 more.
