Meet the breeder

I'm Daniel W., the breeder behind Sunnyside Meadows Goldens located in Wolcott, IN. We breed high-quality puppies. We love what we do and are committed to producing well-bred, healthy puppies for loving homes. We give our dogs the best lives possible. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care.

Q. & A. with Daniel

  • Why did you start breeding?

My parents gave my brother and I each a field Golden Retriever when we were young boys, and my love of this exuberant, beautiful, gundog was formed in long hours playing with our puppies as they grew up. My love of Golden Retrievers made it a natural choice to decide to raise this friendly and intelligent breed, for other families to also be able to enjoy a Golden Retriever puppy.
  • What makes your program special?

Our Golden Retriever puppies are from AKC registered field Golden Retrievers genetics that are rock solid in their health clearances. Our parents are fully tested before they are allowed to have puppies and carefully screened for personalities that are family friendly and eager to please.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

I had a wonderful experience with Daniel! He was quick to respond & was willing to FaceTime with me to give me a chance to meet Honey before picking her up. He was very accommodating, knowledgeable & I felt very comfortable picking her up alone! Upon bringing Honey home, she has been an incredible puppy - she is so sweet and eager to do the right thing. I really credit the work Daniel has done to get them prepared for their forever home!

Daniel was informative and helpful which made bringing our puppy home easy. We were prepared and so was our puppy! Our puppy, Wolly, is social, friendly, relaxed, and eager to learn. Daniel has reached out to us a few times to check in on our progress and made himself available for any questions we have. We are so happy with our new addition to our family and recommend Sunnyside Meadows Goldens to anyone looking for a golden puppy.

We have only had our sweet new puppy, Benji, for just shy of two weeks, but everything is going so well. We had some questions in the first 48 hours and Daniel was extremely responsive and willing to help, even hopping on a quick phone call with us. Benji has been the sweetest addition to our family and seems incredibly smart and eager to please. In the short time that we’ve had him, he’s already excitedly learned to sit and come when called. Daniel sent a very helpful and detailed guide with training tips and product recommendations that have been helpful with general training/crate training as well. Working with Sunnyside Meadows and Daniel through good dog was also incredibly easy. Being able to submit a secure payment and set up a time to meet through the site made the process very streamlined. It’s also worth noting that he had his first vet visit the day after we had gotten him and the vet warned us he would likely have some parasites (as most puppies do she said even when coming from breeders) but Benji’s tests came back negative for every thing— he is perfectly healthy, and it’s clear he was well taken care of by Sunnyside Meadows. The blanket they sent home with his litter mates smell was very comforting to him in the first week while he was adjusting. He is completely at home in our home now and we can’t wait to watch Benji continue to grow!

We’ve had a 5 star experience with Sunnyside Meadows Goldens. Daniel and his brother have been excellent in the customer experience for us including the follow up. Dexter now Lewis has been a great addition to our household. He had some pre training prior to our pickup at 10 weeks. We were able to crate train him immediately in the evening and are about a week away now at 13 weeks to leaving him out of the crate at night and in his own puppy bed. We were able to get him potty trained within 2 weeks with just a few rare accidents in the house. He is a great traveler, very outgoing with everyone he meets and very playful with our grandchildren. The breeding by Sunnyside and the care of the puppies for the first 10 weeks had been outstanding!
