Meet the breeder

I'm Karen C., the breeder behind Sunrise Australian Labradoodles located in Anthony, FL. We breed quality, health tested, medium and standard sizes for therapy, service and family pets. We believe it is our obligation to you, our customers, to breed only those dogs together that have passed the most thorough and up to date genetic health testing available in order to produce the most healthy puppies possible.

Q. & A. with Karen

  • Why did you start breeding?

It all began with the purchase of my Goldendoodle named Kea. I was so smitten by the "doodles" right from the start because of her happy and people oriented personality, her non aggressive temperament and non-shedding coat that I just fell in love. When you have a doodle you start knowing doodle people, this is where I realized that doodles were being bred without goals and breed standards in place for things like coats, temperaments, and health considerations. Breeders were just matching any Poodle and Lab/Golden together and the results were basically "willy nilly" and all different sizes, coats and temperaments. So my dream began with research on how to breed a quality "Doodle" for family pets or therapy that were constant in temperament, health, coat, and size. That is when I chose to breed the Australian Labradoodle.
  • What makes your program special?

My number one priority is health of your new puppy. I am a home based breeder that utilizes Guardian Home families that give my breeding dogs forever homes. I perform extensive testing on my breeding dogs and research past litters for health of my future program. I am a founding member of the Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Assoc and am a current member. I also am on the Committee for future Health of our breed.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include caramel ice, caramel cream, caramel, red, apricot, cream, chocolate, cafe, lavendar, parchment, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
