I'm Briana K., the breeder behind SunSet Ranch Aussies located in Athens, AL. A Little About Me & SunSet Ranch My name is Briana Davis Kendrick, and I’m the face behind SunSet Ranch here in Athens, Alabama. I’m a mama to three little boys, and we’re lucky enough to call 300 acres of beautiful farm land home. Our days are filled with horses, cows, chickens, cats, and, of course, our beloved Australian Shepherds. It’s a busy, sometimes crazy, but very special life—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I’ve had Aussies my entire life and have been raising them since 2011. They have always held such a special place in my heart, so when I decided to have our very first litter here at SunSet Ranch, I put a TON of time and research into making sure I was doing things the right way and choosing the perfect match. What I didn’t expect was just how much I would fall in love with raising puppies. There is nothing quite like watching those tiny little babies grow, seeing their personalities develop, and getting to love on them every single day. And honestly, one of my favorite parts has been meeting all of the wonderful families who have welcomed one of our puppies into their homes. Knowing that these babies are becoming such a special part of someone’s family means more to me than I can put into words. I may be a small hobby breeder, but I take what I do very seriously. My goal has always been to breed responsibly, with the health, temperament, structure, and future of the Australian Shepherd in mind. Most importantly, I want to raise puppies that will grow into happy, healthy lifelong companions for the families who love them. Our puppies are raised right here with us on the farm, surrounded by our family, our animals, and lots of everyday farm life. They get plenty of love, attention, and snuggles from the very beginning.   • Why did you start breeding?

    My very first Aussie came into my life when I was 6 years old. When he passed I decided to pursue my love for Aussies! After tons of research and picking the perfect match I decided to have our very first litter here at the SunSet Ranch. I had no idea just how much I would grow to love breeding, getting to watch all of our puppies grow, and meeting new owners from all over the U.S..

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit that secures a specific puppy. The remaining $1,000 - $2,500 is due at pickup, before taxes & fees.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
