I'm Abigail R., the breeder behind Sunshine Goldens located in Brookston, IN. We love goldens & the experience of raising litters! Our mission is to raise pups that are set up to become the best companions. Our puppies become integral members of our family from day 1 until they go home. We are grateful for all members of our military services and offer a military discount!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My husband David has been raising & training Golden Retrievers for over 15 years. We welcomed Sally & Viola into our family in 2020 & knew we wanted to raise great quality dogs to share with other families!

  • What makes your program special?

    Sally Mae & Miss Viola are littermates that have grown up in our home! We welcomed Shadow in the fall of 2022 to complete our breeding program. With over a decade of experience with breeding, raising puppies, and training dogs, we can offer support to all our puppy families!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Abigail

Abigail has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $2,250 - $4,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Pups go home with limited AKC Registration, microchipped, up to date shots, ENS, FL certificate of health, & a goodie bag packed with things to get you started!! $250 deposit reserves your pup or pick in the litter. It is deducted from the full purchase price. It can be transfered to a future litter if needed."

Contract & health guarantee

Abigail may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

    We couldn’t be happier that we picked Sunshine’s Goldens for our puppy Murphy! We can tell that she was so loved and cared for as a pup. Abigail is so friendly and accommodating- we had to delay our pickup a couple weeks and she was more than happy to adjust. She is very timely and communicative with updates and photos and was a joy to work with, making the whole waiting process so much easier.     We had an amazing experience with Abigail and Sunshine Goldens! After losing our precious dog a few years ago, our family was ready to bring another furry friend into our home. We communicated with Sunshine Goldens asking questions and finding out more information… Abigail got right back to us and we had open communication throughout the whole process. We even did a virtual meeting since we lived a distance away and met the puppies via “Zoom.” We actually picked our pup because he came over and licked the phone while we were all talking! We were smitten! Abigail even offered to meet us halfway when the time came to get our sweet pup so we didn’t have to cover the entire distance—this was so thoughtful and helpful! We love our new golden, Blaze, and happy to know he came from a loving breeder who helped make this a seamless and positive experience!

    Abigail was so great and accommodating! Her husband was also very nice and helpful when going to pick up the puppy. They gave us a sweet gift bag with food and collars/leash and all the necessary paperwork! Puppy came chipped already which was great. Amazing breeder !     Abigail is so easy to work with, she answers all your questions very quickly. Picking up our new puppy was easy and she went over everything that we needed to know. Our new pup ( Seamus) is so very calm and well rounded and I believe it’s the way Abigail takes care of the dogs while they are in her care.
