Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding because I fell in love with the Australian Shepherd temperament—smart, loyal, and deeply bonded to their people—and I wanted to raise the kind of Aussies families actually live with.
What makes your program special?
What makes Sunshine Shepherds special is that our puppies are raised in a real home with kids, daily handling, and early enrichment, so they’re confident, people-focused, and prepared for real life.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Megan

Megan has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Megan partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit. The remaining $900 - $1,250 is due at pickup, before taxes & fees.

“All puppies go home with AKC Registration. They have been vet-checked, have age-appropriate vaccines and have been dewormed. They’re also raised in our home with early socialization. All puppies are the same price. The deposit goes towards your total.”

Contract & health guarantee

Megan may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Penny is a female Australian Shepherd 13 weeks old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Megan decided to make her part of their program. Megan has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Parent health testing

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
