Carmen D.

Breeder of Dachshunds

Meet the breeder

I'm Carmen D., the breeder behind Suzie’s Mini Doxies located in Bakersfield, CA. Hello! My name is Carmen. I am the human behind Suzie’s Mini Doxies. I have a SAHM and a WFHM all the same. I have three children who also love our animals. Suzie was my first dachshund thus came the name of the program.

Q. & A. with Carmen

  • Why did you start breeding?

A little doxie came to my door lost one day, and the rest was history. She went back home, but I had already fallen in love with the breed. We got one. Then another. The first litter was truly an accident at the time, but I fell in love with the whole process especially the beauty of the birth and postpartum. It’s very exciting seeing each puppy grow up and bond with a family. I love what I do.
  • What makes your program special?

I strive to be the best breeder I can be. I am with my dogs 24/7 as I WFH. My program focuses on temperament, proper health testing, and early socialization to give each puppy the best start in life. Each and every puppy/dog is truly loved, and my goal is to match them with a family that will cherish and love them just as much.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, cream, red, black and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
