Q. & A. with Shelby
Why did you start breeding?
I was blessed with my first shih tzu at 5 years of age which began a lifelong obsession. At the age of nine, I welcomed my first litter of puppies, and in that moment, I knew that breeding Shih Tzu was my calling. It was a decision that would shape my life’s path, leading me to establish Sweet and Sassy Shih Tzu, a place where our dogs are not just pets, but cherished members of our family.
What makes your program special?
At Sweet and Sassy Shih Tzu, we go beyond cute—we focus on health, structure, and standout personalities. With over 40 years of devotion to the breed, our puppies are raised in love, spoiled daily, and placed in homes where they’re treated like family. Quality, care, and connection set us apart.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, chocolate and tan, cream and white, red and tan, sable, sable and white, tricolor, black, liver, gold, red, silver, black gold and white, black gold and silver, black white and silver, brindle and white, black and white, gold and white, liver and white, red and white, silver and white, silver gold and white, white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
