I'm Betsy H., the breeder behind Sweet Doodles of Alabama located in Hamilton, AL. We specialize in micro and petite Goldendoodles. We have a loving, energetic growing family that love on our pups very well as they are growing and developing, to be prepared for their forever homes. We are intentional to give the puppies daily handling and love so that they will be ready to adapt!
Q. & A. with Betsy
Why did you start breeding?
Our friends purchased a Goldendoodle for their family. When I met their pup, I fell in love with the breed, and dove into a lot of research then ended up adopting our own Micro Goldendoodle; Where the inspiration for the breeding journey began. Our other friends are longtime Goldendoodle breeders in FL; They filled us in on what a great time they've had in the business and coached us along the way.
What makes your program special?
Our program is family based with lots of attention and care given to our puppies as they grow and develop. We prioritize communication so you're never having to wait long on attention to your inquiries. We have priced our pups a bit lower than the standard rate for families like ours to have a bit of a closer reach to their own Goldendoodle.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include petite and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA 2, Miniature Schnauzer - Type A, PRA 1 - Type A (Miniature Schnauzer Type), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy (PRA-crd), Standard Wirehaired Dachshund Type, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Chondrodystrophy (CDDY and IVDD Risk) with or without Chondrodysplasia (CDPA), Chondrodystrophy and IVDD Risk (CDDY-IVDD)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
