I'm Jennifer M., the breeder behind Sweetbriar Shih Tzu located in Morrisville, MO. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy, adorable Shih Tzu puppies and connect loving families with their new best friends! We treat our dogs and puppies like family, and we give each pup all the loving care that we can to prepare them for their forever homes. We are proud of our program and look forward to helping you find your next furry family member!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My father raise American Pit Bull Terriers and I was lucky enough to grow up loving and learning about quality dogs and the care it takes to raise them. So my life has been a progression to the point I am now, loving and showing this exceptional breed is my honor and pleasure.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include tricolor, gold, red, silver, red and white, gold and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jennifer

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jennifer partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Coat/Trait Panel, DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We started our search on GoodDog first focused on finding a female Shih Tzu close to home in Minnesota.We quickly discovered our criteria of a great breeder with high health standards would take us further out of state. Upon submission of my application to Jennifer we quickly determined we were a great match. I couldn’t have found a more perfect match in Jennifer and her available puppy Tessa (now Shelby). Her communication was excellent, she answer all my questions and spent an entire hour on a zoom call before putting down our deposit. Meeting for pickup was absolutely flawless. My only regret is not being able to have a whole household of her beautiful babies 🤣. Our vet says she is perfect and we have absolutely fallen in love with this little doll.     Jennifer is an absolutely amazing breeder with the best dogs ever. I truly can’t put into words how much effort and time she puts into her puppies which you can not only tell from how adorable and cute they are but most importantly their attitudes, temperament, and overall health. We added our baby to our home in July and he has been nothing short of the most perfect fluffball ever!
