I'm April M., the breeder behind T. Rex Doxies & Friends located in Bergen, NY. We’re so excited to be able to help families experience the longtime loyalty of welcoming a new puppy into their lives! Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives. We want to do our part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to provide each of our puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives.

What makes your program special?
We have a very small selection of dogs in our favorite breeds! All babies are hand selected to the AKC standards. We are an in-home breeding program. Our dogs are family members and retire here. There are no crates or cages or separate living quarters. We have a doggie door and they have full access to the home, furniture, and beds.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

"All our babies go home with lifetime support, a full vet exam, and vaccines provided my a licensed veterinarian. If applicable- most of our babies are AKC registered as well. Deposits are nonrefundable if you change your mind on your decision. We spend a lot of time communicating and getting you ready for the big day. We value your time and we know you value ours too!"

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+6I wanted to wait a couple of months before leaving this review so I could give my full, honest experience. I was extremely nervous and particular about where I purchased my puppy from, and we ended up driving 5 hours to pick up Samba (formerly Jerry). When we arrived, everything was prepared for him — a bag with a blanket, toys, and puppy food. The pickup process itself was very smooth and organized. We were placed in a separate room for the handoff, so we didn’t get to meet the mom, dad, or other puppies, which I would have appreciated for full transparency. The following day, I brought him to the vet for a health check. Physically he was healthy, but his stool test came back positive for Giardia. He is currently on his second round of medication, and our vet reassured us that this is very common in puppies and not a major concern. Overall, we could not be happier. Samba is an amazing, healthy, and incredibly smart little boy. At just around 5 months old, he is nearly fully potty trained, and we are loving every moment with him. We adore him unconditionally! If you’re considering adding a dachshund to your family, we truly recommend T. Rex Doxies & Friends! ❤️

Highly recommend going through April when looking for a new companion!!!!!!! Our little guy is the sweetest! He was already well puppy pad trained and does amazingly well in his little crate as we are crate training him!!!!! He has a very sweet disposition and adjusting so well in his new home you can tell her puppies are well taken care of and loved before being adopted to their forever homes!!! Nothing but good things to say! Money well spent in my honest opinion!!!!! Our puppy is happy and healthy!!!! Thank you April!!!!! +6April was responsive and communicative. She reached out with update pictures and kept the communication going even when we arrived home to make sure everything went well. We are so impressed with how well Potato already knew how to use puppy pads and how easily he’s transitioning to outside potty training. His temperament is also really impressive and he’s so well behaved.
