I'm Tabby L., the breeder behind Tabby’s Sweet Boykins located in Union County, NC. My dogs have passed all health clearances required by the Boykin Spaniel Society which include DM, CEA, EIC, eyes, heart, hips, and patellas. I have four females of breeding age and allow them to each have one litter per year. My priorities when breeding are excellent health and good temperament.
Q. & A. with Tabby
Why did you start breeding?
The experience of witnessing new puppies enter the world, watching them grow, and helping shape them and train them in preparation for their new forever homes is the most rewarding experience ever! I really value the connections I form with my buyers and love to continue to watch my puppies grow up through their eyes.
What makes your program special?
Pups are raised in the home. Pups are BSS and AKC registered, have their tails docked and dew claws removed at 4 days, worming and first set of vaccinations at the appropriate age, microchipped, and introduced to loud noises and birds. Weaning and socialization begin around 4 1/2 weeks of age, potty training & the introduction to loud noises at 5 weeks of age, & crate training at 6 weeks.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark brown and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
