Meet the breeder

I'm Brandyn L., the breeder behind Tails of Grace located in Indianapolis, IN. Our Breeding Philosophy: Purpose Over Profit We believe breeding Yorkshire Terriers is a responsibility, not a hobby or trend. Every litter we plan is guided by one goal: giving each puppy the strongest, healthiest start to life possible. What this means to us: ✔️ Health-tested parents ✔️ Careful pairing for temperament & structure ✔️ Limited, intentional litters ✔️ Around-the-clock newborn care ✔️ Clean, calm, enriched environments Newborn Yorkies are fragile. They require constant monitoring, warmth, nutrition, and hands-on support, especially in the earliest days. We do not rush this process or cut corners. Breeding ethically means doing what’s best for the puppies, even when it requires sleepless nights and hard decisions. We’re proud of how our puppies are raised and we’re always happy to educate those who want to learn.

Q. & A. with Brandyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for Yorkshire Terriers began as a pet owner and grew into a passion for preserving the breed. After years of learning about health, temperament, and responsible practices, I decided to begin breeding with a focus on quality, care, and raising happy, well-socialized puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is special because it focuses on quality, not quantity. Puppies are raised in a loving home environment with early socialization, proper care, and attention to health and temperament. I am committed to responsible breeding practices and lifelong support for each puppy and family.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate, tan and white, chocolate and tan, parti, and black and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Great level

Tails of Grace reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkshire Terriers.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
