I'm Tamra F., the breeder behind Tamra's located in Paradise, TX. I've been breeding Cockers for 40 years, Dobermans for 15. Temperament, health, and quality have always been my goal. Our dogs are bred with temperament and health in mind. Although my focus is conformation, I have dogs that are competing in obedience, agility, barn hunt, nose work, and therapy dogs.
Q. & A. with Tamra
Why did you start breeding?
I read some books when I was a child that contained some show dogs. Ever since I dreamt of having beautiful show dogs. When I was old enough I applied to every kennel, vet clinic, etc. I was hired by a boarding kennel that also showed dogs. I learned the ropes and met my mentor. I've shown and bred top winners since 1986.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are raised and live in our home. We don't skimp on the quality of dogs we use in our program. We use the best, most complementary stud dogs regardless of their location. My husband is a Veterinarian so our dogs get the best of care. I always try to live up to my motto, Tamra's Where Excellence Is A Tradition.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Cocker Spaniel puppies include black and tan and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
