Meet the breeder

I'm Regina B., the breeder behind TANDEM Aussies located in Los Alamos, CA. It is our goal to help ensure the future of the Australian Shepherd through responsibly breeding our exceptional dogs. We are responsible breeders who are passionate about our dogs! They’re central to our lives, and we are proud of their accomplishments. We enjoy participating in conformation events and staying involved in the breed.

Q. & A. with Regina

  • Why did you start breeding?

My dad found our first dog and had 6 judges verify that it was an Australian Shepherd. He was winning all the time and eventually people were getting a little frustrated on who this dog was and how he continued to beat out the other dogs. My mother and Grandmother became hooked, my dad not so much. LOL! It was at that point that Taycin had become our new Hobby and soon our four-generation came to be.
  • What makes your program special?

Tandem specializes in raising and breeding Australian Shepherds We have been actively improving the breed since 1972 (but have since branched off from Taycin in 2018). We fully guarantee our dogs against any hereditary health issues and temperament issues. We strive for a healthy companion and have OFA' d all of our breeding dogs. In addition, we are proud to say since 1974 we have cleared eyes by a licensed Veterinarian Ophthalmologist for every breeding dog, as well as every puppy we have produced before going to their new homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black tri, red tri-color, red merle, and blue merle. Australian Shepherd puppies include red merle, blue merle, red, and black tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
