Meet the breeder

I'm Nicole T., the breeder behind Tango Kennels located in East Oakdale, CA. We hold quality to the highest level, by health testing thoroughly to ensure a well bred dog for you and for us to keep our lines going. I, Nicole Torre am a third generation Breeder of dogs. So you can say I was born into this, having finished my first show dog’s championship at just 4 years old.

Q. & A. with Nicole

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding because of my mother and grandmother, it is almost all I knew growing up and I loved it. Most of all I had fallen in love with Manchester Terriers and would do anything for the breed. I love being part of the growth of this breed.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Manchester Terrier puppies include toy and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Manchester Terrier puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Xanthinuria, Type 2a, von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
