Meet the breeder

I'm Kaylene V., the breeder behind Tapestry Australian Shepherds located in Deford, MI. We love our dogs and what we do, and we strive to make each puppy a great contribution to his or her forever home. We breed healthy, beautiful puppies. We take our job seriously, knowing that our puppies will become someone's beloved pet.

Q. & A. with Kaylene

  • Why did you start breeding?

We found a nice pup from a disreputable breeder. An old friend and I researched the breed, learning the importance of genetic health testing, good training practices, and health care. We began with a few good dogs and grew as we showed, trained, and gained valuable information to better our breeding program. Friends, family, and others quickly became very interested in these “aussome” dogs!
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are loved on from day one. We raise healthy, quality family dogs and companions. We understand the importance of dog health, temperament, and structure, and every breeding decision is made accordingly. From the moment they are born we are there. Through their development we introduce various activities that help with building confidence, giving encouragement and stimulate senses etc.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, red merle, red, and black. Australian Shepherd puppies include red merle, blue merle, red, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
