I'm Patty C., the breeder behind Tapestry Yorkies located in Sun City, AZ. As the Embark Liaison for Yorkshire Terriers, I am passionate about breed health and holistic puppy care. This includes over vaccination. Since 2016 I have worked behind the scenes supporting Dr. John Robb and formed Titersforpets.org to focus on legislation. Participating is not optional.

Why did you start breeding?
Although I bred Yorkies for many years, I am not currently breeding, and am instead focused on working with Embark to better breed health testing and education. I am working to identify solutions to common issues that discourage Yorkie breeders.What makes your program special?
I take a holistic approach to puppy health and care, and am involved as the coordinator in Arizona for #HonortheTiter. I work with my puppy buyers to ensure all of our puppies are Embark tested.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Excellent level
Tapestry Yorkies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkshire Terriers.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
