Meet the breeder

I'm Kristi C., the breeder behind The Corgi Nest located in Morgan, TX. At The Corgi Nest, our dogs are not just breeding animals—they’re beloved family members who live in our home, not in kennels. We believe the best puppies come from dogs who are well-loved, well-socialized, and deeply bonded with their people. Our dogs share everyday life with us, enjoying adventure walks in the woods, naps on the couch, and plenty of playtime with both people and other pets. All of our puppies are raised right in our home using Puppy Culture protocols, which means they’re gently and intentionally exposed to sounds, textures, people, and early developmental experiences from day one. This early enrichment builds confident, curious, and emotionally resilient dogs who transition more easily into their new homes and thrive as lifelong companions. We focus on health, structure, and temperament by carefully selecting breeding pairs with quality pedigrees and clear or compatible genetic testing. Our puppies are AKC registered, microchipped, vet-checked, and go home with a strong foundation of socialization, as well as support for their new families. At The Corgi Nest, we don’t just place puppies—we grow partnerships with families who are ready to love and raise these incredible dogs as members of their pack.

Q. & A. with Kristi

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding was never a spontaneous decision for me—it’s been a dream over a decade in the making. I’ve spent more than 10 years researching canine health, genetics, structure, and responsible breeding practices, all while waiting for the right time for our family to begin. Even more important was finding the right foundation dog to begin our program. I needed a Corgi with the health, temperament, and lineage that aligned with our values—and once we found her, I waited patiently until she was fully health-tested and mature enough to start the journey. We’ve had two wonderful litters in the past, and now we’re beginning a new chapter with our beautiful females, Millie and Dolly, who have recently reached maturity and are ready to become mommas. We’re excited to continue raising confident, well-loved Corgis who bring joy to the families they join.
  • What makes your program special?

At The Corgi Nest, we are a small, intentional breeding program focused on quality over quantity. Every decision we make—from pairing dogs to raising puppies—is rooted in our deep commitment to health, temperament, and breed conformation. All of our dogs are fully health tested, and each one is first and foremost a cherished family pet. They live in our home and are part of our daily lives—whether lounging on the couch, joining us on outdoor adventures, or learning new tricks. The only exception is Dolly, who is lovingly raised by our niece, where she’s also a beloved companion. Our puppies are born and raised in our home, surrounded by everyday sights, sounds, and love. We proudly follow the Puppy Culture program, which helps us nurture emotionally resilient, socially confident, and well-adjusted pups. Our goal is to raise extraordinary companions who add joy, connection, and lasting value to the families they join. We don’t just breed puppies—we raise family members with intention, integrity, and heart.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

The entire process of acquiring our fluffy corgi boy from Kristi has been something out of a Hallmark movie. From the first video chat with Kristi to the day she personally delivered our little boy to us at our home in southern California, Kristi has met and exceeded our every expectation in getting a new puppy. Not only is she a knowledgeable and caring breeder who was always responsive to our every question, she exudes a genuineness that is rare to find these days. Thank you for giving us a healthy and well-adjusted little corgi boy.

Kristi was intentional from the start, preparing my new puppy! Walter came already exposed to crate training, potty training, and other people which has made the process so much smoother. Kristi goes above and beyond making sure the transition is smooth from the first video interview, to drop off, to the bag sent home with items to help with the transition. Walter is stealing the hearts of everyone he meets!!

Working with Kristi was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. She was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and clearly passionate about helping me find the perfect puppy. Thanks to her, I found Toki my sweet girl who's already brought so much joy, laughter, and love into my life. From the moment we met, I knew she was the one. she's full of energy and already stealing hearts everywhere she goes 🐶🐾💕 I couldn't be happier with the process and would absolutely recommend Kristi to anyone looking for their new best friend!

I brought home my second Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Teddy, on 6/10/2024 and to say he's been an absolute delight is the understatement of the century. He's the sweetest boy with the wildest personality but the biggest snuggliest heart I've ever met. He slotted into my and my first corgi, Olive's, lives so easily it's hard to imagine he's only been with us for 7 months. Kristi and The Corgi Nest were phenomenal the entire time. She interviewed me to make sure that my home was the best for Teddy and after the deposit was set, she spoiled me with almost daily updates on how my little guy was doing. I was able to experience his opening his eyes, beginning to walk, developing the snuggly, crazy personality that makes him him all through her updates, so I felt like I was there every step of the way despite being an hour and a half away. He's so incredibly intelligent and thanks to her using Puppy Culture, he was receptive to new experiences, crate training and training in general from the beginning. I'm so so thankful for this little guy and I have no doubts that her next litter will be just as amazing as Teddy's. If three corgis wasn't way too much for me, I'd absolutely be waiting for the next litter with bated breath!
