Meet the breeder

I'm Joanna A., the breeder behind The house of Dachshund located in Calexico, CA. Hi, I’m Joanna! We raise our Dachshunds in our home as part of our family. Our puppies are exposed to everyday household life, people, children, and other dogs to help them grow into confident companions. We care deeply about health, temperament, and finding the right match for each family. We love staying in touch with our puppy families and are always here for support long after our puppies go home.

Q. & A. with Joanna

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey started with my own Dachshunds and a genuine love for the breed. Over time, I became interested in learning more about health, temperament, and responsible breeding practices. What began as a hobby turned into a passion for raising quality puppies and connecting them with loving homes.
  • What makes your program special?

We keep things simple. Our dogs are part of our family, and our puppies are raised with the same love and attention we would want for our own pets. We truly enjoy helping families find the right companion
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
