I'm Rebekah H., the breeder behind The Lion dog Shih Tzu located in Citrus Heights, CA. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We are a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise. Our puppies are raised in a loving home environment, ensuring a smooth transition into their new forever homes. They receive early training in essential areas such as potty training, socialization, and grooming skills, setting them up for success in their new families. Each litter, as well as our adult dogs, resides in our homes, becoming cherished members of our families. We believe that every Shih Tzu should experience the warmth and companionship of a loving family, and we take great care to provide a nurturing environment for our dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Breeding was not intended, but it seems that’s the path we are on , we participate in AKC sanctioned dog shows and are trying to improve as we go !

  • What makes your program special?

    Puppies come with all the normal shots for their age and wormings, they come with a 1 year of health warranty from genetic diseases, they come with a puppy pack, and lots of information about the breed included. They have been socialized, potty training will have been started as well as the very best of everything from the beginning. Rest assured you will get a lifetime of knowledge from your breeder and know that you can contact her at any time.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include liver, blue, gold, black and white, gold and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Rebekah

Rebekah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Rebekah partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $3,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“First round of vaccines and deworming veterinarian health check with paperwork, microchipping on all pups AKC registration CKC registration or both. Holding a puppy with a deposit secures that the puppy has a home and is no longer being advertised for sale. The deposit is deducted from the final balance payment. The deposit is nonrefundable if you put a deposit down on a Puppy and then change your mind . that Puppy now has to be re listed at an older age and usually there has to be an explanation of why this Puppy is being re listed , if you fail to make your final payment 24 hours before your pick up day the puppy will Not be released to you until payment is made plus a $20 late fee for every day past the agreed pick up day agreed upon when making your initial deposit If you fail to complete your final payment for 3 days past your initial agreed pick up day the puppy will be re listed and you will forfeit your initial deposit . (Unless other agreements are made).”

    Rebekah is an absolute gem! I am so in love with my sweet little pup. Rebekah was responsive, an excellent communicator, so so sweet and kind. It was so clear how much love and adoration she had for these pups. Her home was absolutely spotless! My sweet puppy, Luigi, was clearly well socialized and comfortable. He was so clean and perfectly groomed with a bright red bow around his neck when I went to go pick him up.     I highly recommend Rebekah as a breeder! She was very responsive, helpful, a good communicator, adores the pups, and is overall just a good human. I brought home a blue puppy at 8 weeks with Rebekah’s help from her husband to get the pup to me in Oklahoma. Everything went smoothly and I loved Rebekah’s updates every week with new pictures or videos. My pup (Teddy) is almost 4 months now and I worship the little bugger. He’s SO smart and adjusted so quickly to sleeping in his crate and using potty pads. Hats off to Rebekah for making the transition for him to my home an easy one!     Rebekah is a fantastic breeder! This was the first time we’ve used a breeder vs. shelters or dogs from friends so we were a little hesitant about going this route. Gooddog’s vetting gave some comfort, but you never know how things might go. Rebekah was hands-on from the start, and kept us informed all along the way. She even invited us to the first veterinary appointment which allowed us to meet the pups, and hear the results of their examination directly. She is such a sweet and caring person, and we highly recommend her.

    Rebecca was a pleasure to work with I bought one of her Shih Tzu puppies. Her name is Lacey and she is chocolate Brown most adorable.
