Meet the breeder

I'm Kristin K., the breeder behind The Retriever Midwife Labrador Retrievers located in Jonesboro, AR. I produce hunting, competition, and family Labs bred with an emphasis on health, performance, and well-balanced temperament. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one with an enriching and loving family complementary to their personality and ability!

Q. & A. with Kristin

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have worked at a veterinary practice for years. I spent a lot of time working with hunting and competition Labs. In my 17 years at the practice, our services and volume grew along with my love for Labs. I decided to put my passion, experience, and education to good use. I work as Theriogenology nurse in our high volume reproductive practice as well as an independent consultant. #retrievermidwife
  • What makes your program special?

My dams are from lines that I have seen develop over many generations. I do not produce a litter unless each of my parent dogs are healthy and excellent representations of the standard. I am dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming my pups. I love what I do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of my puppies shine!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Shoulder Osteochondrosis

  • Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test

Kristin was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was very responsive to messages and was very kind to provide us pictures of our puppy. We traveled about 5 hours to pick him up and Kristin was able to recommend a hotel and was very flexible with setting a meetup time and location. We absolutely love our little fuzzy ball of energy! Can't thank Kristin enough. I would highly recommend her for future litters.
