I'm Julie W., the breeder behind The Spotted Doxie located in Mt. Vernon, TX. We put our dogs' health and happiness first. All of our dogs and puppies are part of a family. We do everything in our power to ensure that each puppy is thoroughly socialized and loved before placed in the perfect home.

Why did you start breeding?
I rescued two females from a terrible situation. After being spayed, their hearts and bodies mended, and so did mine. These girls made me fall in love with the breed. After MUCH research, I began The Spotted Doxie program in hopes of sharing the love of dachshunds with others.What makes your program special?
We prioritize preserving the breed standard over simply creating the most desired color or pattern. Any baby leaving is well socialized, ready for their new adventures, and comes with a 1-year genetic health guarantee.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Getting a puppy from Julie
Julie has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Julie partners with them to find the best puppy match.
"It is important that I get to know you a little bit to ensure you are a great fit for one of our babies. We strive to place our babies in forever homes that understand the breed."
Price
"Included is limited AKC registration (full is available only to approved breeders), wellness check, first round of vaccinations done by my vet, bi-weekly deworming, lots of socialization, and a puppy pack. Once you choose your family's puppy, a nonrefundable $500 deposit is required to hold your puppy. This ensures your baby is "off the market" and no other families can inquire about them."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Peneloope is an independent explorer. She loves to stalk the squirrels in our yard, yet she has made friends with a deer that comes to visit each night. She loves the cat, although he does not quite feel the same! Pen is also a hardcore cuddler once she has secured the premises. She is beautiful inside and out.

Where to begin…I highly recommend Julie, I’m so happy I found her on Good Dog. She was very responsive and knowledgeable about the breed. What made the experience special was Julie herself. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Julie at The Spotted Dog. From the very beginning, she kept in constant communication with me about my new fur baby, Bea. She provided everything I needed, including detailed information about Bea’s genealogy. That’s when things became even more special. My late husband, who passed away 18 months ago, was a Cajun chef. His nickname for me was “Bea.” So when I saw this little pup’s name was Beatrice, I knew deep down she was meant to be mine. And then came the chills—two of her great-grandparents were named Little Cajun Man and Boudreaux. As if that wasn’t enough, she was born just a few weeks after my husband passed.
