I'm Amanda S., the breeder behind The Wiener Family located in Ocala, FL. At The Wiener Family ,we are passionate about breeding happy, healthy dachshund puppies that meet the highest standards. Our breeding program focuses on extensive DNA testing and veterinary care to ensure every puppy is healthy, has a wonderful temperament, and adheres to breed standards.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding thanks to Luna, my first dachshund. She changed everything for me. Her loyalty, personality, and the joy she brought into our home made me realize that dachshunds were more than just pets they were family. I wanted to share that feeling with others by raising happy, healthy puppies that would become someone else’s best friend.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes my program special is the love and time I pour into each dog and every puppy. Each of our dogs live in our home and sleep in a designated area just for them. They’re part of our daily lives and are well socialized with children and family routines. I focus on health, temperament, and early development to ensure every puppy leaves ready to thrive in their forever home.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, sable, cream, black, chocolate, blue and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amanda partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Puppies are selected in the order deposits are received. Buyers are screened and approved prior to placing a deposit. While selection is based on deposit order, I also guide families to help match each puppy with the best home based on lifestyle and preferences.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $500 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Each puppy comes with a CKC registration, vet check, first set of vaccines, deworming, health guarantee, starter kit, and lifetime breeder support. Will be subtracted from the final total. The deposit is non-refundable if you later do not want the puppy. They will only be refundable if something happens to the dog during my care.”

Contract & health guarantee

Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     We flew all the way from Michigan for one of Amanda’s puppies. Her coloring is a show stopper. We constantly get compliments on how beautiful she is and how well behaved she is for an 8 week puppy. Transition is going amazing. She’s taken right to the family!! Sleeping well, she wakes me every couple of hours to go out and then goes right back to sleep. She was already comfortable with puppy pads so transitioning to outdoors has been significantly easier. She definitely gives me signs. She is so eager to learn and picks up things really fast. I accredit a lot of that to the family she comes from. She loves people, and is comfortable in our outings. She’s very playful and loving. We literally couldn’t have asked for a better puppy. She was meant to be. We highly recommend the wiener family, they are worth the trip 😉 Sending love from Michigan!!
