Why did you start breeding?
My family was in dogs- Danes.
What makes your program special?
The individual care & attention for each pup & careful placement in new homes, our contact with new owners for life of the dog makes us stand out. Thorndale Collies have always been bred to the AKC breed standard in type, temperament , genetics , longevity . Our dogs have successfully competed at the national level . We believe firmly in proving the value of ones breeding program .
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and white, sable merle, black white and tan, and blue merle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
Getting a puppy from Vickie
Vickie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“An application/references is required for the approved waitlist. Deposits are taken once pregnancy is confirmed via ultrasound.. Pricing shown is for pet dogs to be spayed/neutered , not for breeding/show stock. Our puppies & adult dogs are for discerning buyers & collie owners who want the very best for themselves & their families. An application/references is required for the approved waitlist. Deposit are not taken till pups are 2 weeks old. We take a limited number of deposits on a given litter. Not all the pups will be available .”

Thorndale Collies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Collies.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
