I'm Amber W., the breeder behind Three16 Ranch located in Owenton, KY. The two most important things we can do as a breeder is to raise healthy, well rounded dogs and to find them the best suitable homes. We certainly do not take the tasks lightly. The first step for success starts in the whelping pen. Puppies are raised using Puppy Culture & early neurological stimulation which is the best start for helping a puppy become trainable, healthy, socialized and well rounded. Border collies from Three16 Ranch have gone on to be excellent companions who enjoy an active lifestyle with their families.

Why did you start breeding?
The love we discovered for Border Collies started with Mable. When we realized what an excellent dog border collies are, I just knew that I wanted to be part of sharing that with others.What makes your program special?
I would say what sets our breeding program apart from others is our WHY. The reason WHY we are breeding is to help others add that special member to their family. We truly care about setting your puppy up for success in their new homes. If you don't know what that "melt your heart" connection feels like with a dog, I hope we can help make that happen.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Amber has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Amber partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Puppies will be ABCA & AKC registered, vaccinated and examined by a vet. They will go home with a health certificate and a few essentials we like to send them off with. Deposits are non refundable after puppies are 6 weeks old with the exception of incident on our end.”

Litter update on 24 Aug •…These sweet babies are just the best 🥰 They had a big day Friday at their vet appointment where they received a check up and first round of vaccines. They are well into Manding training but we’ve had some interruptions with all the socializing we’ve done lately so we are getting back at it. We’ll continue exposing them to the crate and getting them more confident with it, will be introducing the collar, leash and working on recall as well. We’ll continue exposing are cramming in as much as we can before they go home in less than 2 weeks!!

Litter update on 08 Aug •…I cannot believe the puppies are over 4 weeks old already. They are doing great using their litter box, exploring new places, eating new things… We’ve introduced the clicker and started basic Manding training! They are all adorable and lovable and I just love them to pieces. Millie is being a trooper with her oversized litter and is happy they are starting to get some supplemental feeding!!

Litter update on 03 July •…The puppies are now 7 weeks old and we are cramming as much in as possible as they prepare to go home next week. We are trying to stay cool and most of the puppies are enjoying their pool!!

Litter update on 19 June •…The puppies are now 5 weeks old (yesterday). We are having a blast and cramming as much as we can into these next few weeks. Puppies have been introduced to the clicker, are using the litter box exceptionally well 🤩 get to spend time inside a crate with the door open, are getting to play outside once or twice daily depending on the weather, have a good start on Manding training and of course are getting lots of love and attention from us. We love them all and are thankful for the families they have found so far!! Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Litter update on 07 June •…We’ve been a little quiet the past few weeks but things are really starting to get fun around here. The puppies are playing with new toys (and each other), getting introduced to the litter box and had their first meal of goat milk today 😋 Over the next week we’ll be introducing new sounds, experiences, places within the home, and will continue getting spoiled by us ❤️

Litter update on 16 Dec 2025 •…Lots of exciting and fun things going on this week for the puppies! As they continue in their 3rd week they are eating 1 meal per day of raw goat milk with some beneficial probiotics added. We will continue to add additional healthy foods for them this week. We’ve started introducing some fun toys, playing a mixture of classical music, firework and thunder sounds, and making loud noises to help their startle-recovery. We are continuing to hold them and they sure love to snuggle and give puppy kisses 🐶 some of them look like they will have blue eyes 🩵 And… the litter box has been introduced and they are already using it some. This is great news and really helps their potty training when they go home! You’re welcome 😉

Litter update on 06 June 2025 •…The puppies had a big day yesterday they went to the vet. Everyone received a clean bill of health and weighed between 7.1 and 8.8lbs. They go home in 2 weeks or less!

About Millie
Millie is my personal shadow and heart dog. Extremely loyal and willing to please. I couldn't say more good things about Millie. She is intelligent, easy to train and while she likes to run amok sometimes with the rest of the pack, she prefers to be by my side wether lazing around in the office, barn chores or a trail ride, she is the perfect side kick and loyal companion. We can't wait to see her puppies become affectionate companions, just like her. Her health testing level is ranked Great by gooddog and we are confident she will produce healthy, happy, well rounded puppies.

Quinn is an outstanding, well rounded girl. She is extremely athletic and would rather complete farm tasks or receive affection than fetch a ball. She is gorgeous in looks and wants to be everyone's best friend (people and other dogs). She is happy being independent on the farm or with her people all day.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
