I'm Amber W., the breeder behind Three16 Ranch located in Owenton, KY. The two most important things we can do as a breeder is to raise healthy, well rounded dogs and to find them the best suitable homes. We certainly do not take the tasks lightly. The first step for success starts in the whelping pen. Puppies are raised using Puppy Culture & early neurological stimulation which is the best start for helping a puppy become trainable, healthy, socialized and well rounded. Border collies from Three16 Ranch have gone on to be excellent companions who enjoy an active lifestyle with their families.

Why did you start breeding?
The love we discovered for Border Collies started with Mable. When we realized what an excellent dog border collies are, I just knew that I wanted to be part of sharing that with others.What makes your program special?
I would say what sets our breeding program apart from others is our WHY. The reason WHY we are breeding is to help others add that special member to their family. We truly care about setting your puppy up for success in their new homes. If you don't know what that "melt your heart" connection feels like with a dog, I hope we can help make that happen.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white, blue merle, red merle, and white and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Amber has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Litter update on 06 June •…The puppies had a big day yesterday they went to the vet. Everyone received a clean bill of health and weighed between 7.1 and 8.8lbs. They go home in 2 weeks or less!

Quinn is an outstanding, well rounded girl. She is extremely athletic and would rather complete farm tasks or receive affection than fetch a ball. She is gorgeous in looks and wants to be everyone's best friend (people and other dogs). She is happy being independent on the farm or with her people all day.

I got the puppy of my dreams from Amber with Three16 Ranch in Owenton, KY!! She answered all my questions within a half hour, and took the time to listen to my needs to help me match with a puppy that would be a great companion, and possibly later, a herder of a small flock of sheep. Ivy (aka Kindal) is a happy, smart and beautiful puppy, and she's learned so many new routines in the three weeks that's she's been in our home. Amber let me know all of the foods, treats and feeding times, so that I could continue these to make Ivy's transition easier. Ivy not only knew basic commands, her training crate has been dry every single morning since June 17th. She let me know my pup gal's personality and always remembered my personal hobbies and goals for our future lives together. Amber met me at a mutually agreed upon place/time since her ranch is about 5.5 hours from my home. She drove two hours to deliver Ivy to me to help me have a shorter trip home with my pup gal. Amber and her daughter were very sweet and extremely positive when I happily got to meet them and my puppy for the first time!! It's a memory that will always be with me and in my heart. I couldn't have asked for a more genuine, honest and caring breeder as Amber as I received and am still receiving, the highest level of customer service and the best puppy in the universe! +5Amber went way above and beyond in raising Flair and handing me a sweet and hilarious, well-mannered little companion. As a former breeder and terrier handler, I can tell you temperament is the most important piece of the puzzle and her puppies are well socialized and sound mentally and confirmation-wise. Amber is quite rare in that she does care and as someone who was lucky enough to find her and Flair, I am humbled to have one of her pups. It's only day two here but Flair is clean in the house and in her crate. She has me in stitches with her antics. Amber was very responsive to messages and so easy to work with. You can tell how much she loves her animals and how well taken care of they are. Blaze has a tiny stye on his eye, she informed us immediately, and took him to the vet for our peace of mind before picking him up. She continued to check on him in the coming weeks to ensure he was doing well in his new home, and if we had any concerns, she was quick with recommendations and I solutions to help us! I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Blaze is so smart and ahead of the game with training. He's been an absolute joy and the perfect addition to our family!
