I'm Jennifer, the breeder behind Thurisia located in California. We strive for well rounded AKK that are successful not only in conformation but also in performance and in their daily lives.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I acquired my first Alaskan Klee Kai in 2011 and instantly fell in love. Together through training and building our relationship, I learned how much this breed was able to do and accomplish. I reached out to mentors to learn about training in conformation and performance and later decided that I wanted to help improve upon the breed and show that they really can accomplish most anything.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Thurisia we strive for the well-rounded puppy. We have found the protocols involved in both Puppy Culture and Avidog to really help our program shine. We focus on a small number of litters per year and give a lot of time and attention to each puppy individually. Puppies go home with a solid start to potty and crate training, in addition to basics of clicker training and thinking for themselves

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include toy, mini, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red and white, gray and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
