I'm Lois and Tom C., the breeder behind TLC Dachshunds located in Smicksburg, PA. We are proud to offer our beautiful Dachshund puppies to loving homes! Our dogs are healthy and have great temperaments. We raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities.
Q. & A. with Lois and Tom
Why did you start breeding?
Tom and I went to pick up our very first Doxie “Sammie” Samantha in 2022.
We just fell in love with this girl and our love for this breed. While making our 6 hour trip back to Pennsylvania for Christmas we Decide we wanted to do more than just having a Doxie as part of the family but rather we wanted to start a breeding program to provide the gold standard Dachshund to the public, allowing you to enjoy this wonderful breed as we do.
What makes your program special?
Our Doxies are part of our family, they live with US not in an outside Kennel. They are loved Daily and there health and livelihood are first and foremost. All their Puppies are included in our family as well which makes it a challenge when they go to their furever homes.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black, chocolate, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

My fiancé and I were ready to start our small family with a mini dachshund. As a vet tech, I wanted to research each breeder thoroughly and make sure I was going to receive a healthy pup. I found TLC Dachshunds through Good Dog and I’m glad I did!! They responded to each question I had and sent me updates on my pup each week. I could tell by the pictures/videos alone that they were dedicated and caring breeders that kept all their dogs in healthy condition. When I met Laszlo my heart melted and we connected instantly. He’s a smart and sweet pup that was well socialized and is very friendly with people. I couldn’t be any happier with my pup! Recommending Lois and Tom to everyone!!🥰

Working with Lois and Tom was super easy. They provided great communication from day one, and they were quick to answer all of my questions. I had to reschedule our meet-and-greet / potential adoption date at the last minute, and they were very understanding and willing to work with me to reschedule.
I was very happy with the level of detail they provided, and upon meeting the dog (Sammie), I found to be very accurate. At the meet-and-greet, they gave Sammie and I some time to get to know each other, we discussed transitioning to her into her new home, and made sure I was comfortable with adopting her.
Overall, I was very happy working with them and would do so again in the future.

Lois and Tom are exceptional, kind, informative and loving breeders. I can tell how much love they show for their dachshunds. Since Day 1 they kept me informed of Dunkel's progression through written and photographic communications. They are very helpful and willing to give advise on feeding, social interactions and vet visits for Dunkel. The day I picked up Dunkel, they provide a bag of goodies for Dunkel. In the bag was a blanket that had Dunkel's siblings and mommie's scent . That helped Dunkel's transition to his new home. Dunkel is handsome, intelligent, and easy to handle. He integrated well with the other fur babies in our family . I can't say enough about Lois and Tom Conner and TLC Dachshunds. Thank you for your hard work and love for you Dachshund family.

Lois and Tom were amazing from start to finish. Weekly photo shoots of our pup was the highlight of our week. They were very responsive and helpful with any questions I had. Was also very flexible when it came to pick up and set up a meeting point to travel less. Her go bag was packed with a bunch of incredibly helpful info and things like food and a few toys. Since having Princess at home with us she’s adjusted well and is very playful with our older dog. Highly recommend getting your new fur family member from them.
