I'm Angela E., the breeder behind Top Notch Border Collies located in Boiling Springs, SC. Established Breeder since 2012, certified groomer & trainer since 2008. Dogs are raised in our home with puppy culture and eat a raw diet. They make great pets and many exhibit in conformation and performance sports. We focus heavily on health, structure, temperament, and provide lifelong support.

Why did you start breeding?
My first Border Collie came from a farm where there was no health testing or consideration for structure. Unfortunately, my dog was unable to take jumps properly on the agility field due to slipped hocks. Combined with severe Border Collie Collapse, it became impossible to exercise her safely. The experience set me on a path toward bettering the breed in both health, structure, and temperament.
What makes your program special?
Many breed for profit, but my goal is to help this breed thrive. I take pride in being labeled as a responsible breeder. Through dedication, education, and commitment, I strive to raise healthy, good-tempered, and well-structured Border Collies. Puppies can join their new homes as early as eight weeks, or take part in an optional six-month program focused on potty training and basic obedience.

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Angela

Angela has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Angela partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $3,500 deposit and between $6,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Pups are registered with AKC, are microchipped and enrolled in AKC Reunite, come with a health certificate, vaccines, and are dewormed. We offer training options up to 6 months of age for a higher fee. If purchased at 8 weeks, no deposit is required. Puppies in the optional six-month training program require a deposit equal to half the purchase price and will learn potty & basic obedience training.”

Angela may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Vicky
Vicky was the result of over a year of searching for my next breeding/show prospect. We traveled all the way to Venice, Italy, and brought her home in the cabin under our seat. She is a well-rounded dog. and has passed all health clearances. We are very much looking forward to seeing what she produces. She's not sound sensitive in the slightest, but she can be sensitive to physical pressure when working in obedience and rally, but still gives great effort with a gentle hand and does not walk away from the lesson. She routinely works as my demo dog for training classes, both for obedience and agility. She has been primarily taught by my young adolescent assistant trainer in agility and works well under multiple handlers. A very easy dog to love. Super sweet and a fearless, happy girl wherever we go. Vicky is a very stunning bitch. She rarely puts a foot out of place, is very balanced, and moves with ease. Her head is very feminine and expressive. So far she's done amazing things already in the conformation ring, just from the 6-9-month puppy class - winning 3 majors, 2 of which were won under breeder judges at the Border Collie Specialty in California. She obtained her IntCH title through IABCA with all V-1 ratings and earned a group 1 placement. While working on her GCH she won BOS at the AKC National Championship show in Orlando, FL, earning her a Crufts invite for 2025 & 2026. She is actively showing in Barn Hunt, Conformation, Agility, Cat, FastCat, Rally, and obedience. Although we have a special bond, her favorite person may very well be my teenage son. Her favorite thing in life is a frisbee, and she enjoys the sport of Agility more than anything else we have tried. We adore having her as part of our family. A very easy dog to live with.

Hip Dysplasia
