I'm Jana L., the breeder behind Trailblazer located in Baltimore, MD. My goal is to produce Pugs that are healthy, friendly, well-socialized pets. I want to place them in the best home possible. I do everything I can to ensure the puppies have everything they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. Having a Pug in your life makes life so much better! Anyone with a Pug would agree!
Q. & A. with Jana
Why did you start breeding?
My first litter was in 2006. I spent years learning all I could about my breed, genetics, and puppy socialization techniques. By that time, my dog had had all of her health testing completed and earned a few titles. She had an amazing temperament.
What makes your program special?
With my Pugs, I want to focus on dogs who are healthy and sound in a way that many pugs are not. I seek out dogs that are well built, with a longer muzzle so they can breathe freely. So far, my dogs have been AKC and ACA registered, but I am not opposed to outcrossing with another breed. I use Puppy Culture to give my little ones the best start in life.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
