I'm Lisa T., the breeder behind TrimDachHaus located in Moultrie, GA. Our pups are well socialized and are Dachshunds through and through. Please make sure this is your breed dog. Dachshunds are different from any other breed. They love all but typically serve one master. They are scent hounds! They use their noses. They are fun!
Q. & A. with Lisa
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding by going to an Earthdog trial. Several judges there saw my brindle male and suggested I show him due to his excellent keel, beautiful almond eyes and other things. That was the beginning and I was bitten by the show bug. You see all these beautiful dogs and it makes you want to join in and know you are contributing to the breed.
What makes your program special?
I don’t breed if my dog has not reached their AKC Championship. If they don’t make it in the show ring, I rehome them. I look for faults in my dog and then search for a sire that has something to fix those faults. You have to research pedigrees and breeding programs. Breeding is not easy or cheap but if done correctly it will be worth it.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
