Susan B.

Breeder of Shetland Sheepdogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Susan B., the breeder behind Trio Shelties located in Elizabeth, CO. I do extensive health testing on all my adults and spend lots of time working with my pups as they grow to encourage them and help them become confident and eager to please.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with this breed! They are not only beautiful, but they are also incredibly smart and loyal. I admire a show dog's beauty, but it is just as important to breed for temperament and health. Through my breeding program, I hope to produce my next champion, but just as importantly, provide some families with beautiful, healthy, well-adjusted pets.
  • What makes your program special?

During the first weeks of a puppy's life, they are like little sponges and learn everything so fast!  Their personalities are developing and being influenced by their environment and interactions. I consider it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to shape these young pups into confident dogs that become cherished family members!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle white and tan, black white and tan, and sable and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
