I'm Damian, the breeder behind Tropic Dachshunds located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I’m a very small breeder with lots of knowledge and very educated. We hope to help provide families with quality puppies. I am committed to raising our litters right alongside my family so they’re socialized and ready to leave my care and become loving family members to others.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was born and raised with a miniature dachshund, which passed away after 14 years in my life. My time with her i experienced 3 births, which opened me up to this passion. I have always been very passionate about my dogs and has been the one to take full responsibility for all my babies. I’ve educated myself and learned lots about breeding from extended research. Such as learning genetics, to knowing the in and outs of the pregnancy stages and birth. I’ve even gone above and beyond to write essays and research papers to learn more about breeding, and the health of Miniature dachshunds. I’ve dedicated myself to this beautiful hobby that I dearly love and enjoy.

  • What makes your program special?

    First and foremost, I’m not a major breeder nor breeding facility. I take to heart, love and respect for all my pets. All my dogs live within my home and sleep in my room with me beside my bed. I always make sure my dogs health comes first. With that being said I’m determined to find the best quality food and supplements for overall nutrition and health. When puppies are being born I make sure to stay by moms side and comfort her during the whole process. I spend most of my day with the puppies, and make sure they are always in a clean environment and have a full belly. When puppies are ready to leave my care i want to make it as smooth as possible for the buyer and most importantly the puppy. I always like to send picture updates 2-3 times a week and I like to schedule FaceTime with the buyer (especially if they haven’t meet the pup in person). All my puppies go home with a blanket & a toy with mom/puppies sent, so the puppy feels comfortable, a baggie with food, and Pee-pads. Overall I just love what I do and I care so very much about all my babies that i spoil everyday. If you may have any questions please feel free to ask me.   • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Damian

Damian has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"This price includes the guarantee of the first round of vaccinations, deworming, microchip, Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection, puppy socializing, pee-pad training, and AKC or CKC registration. The deposit guarantees that the puppy is no longer available and it’s on hold until you pickup. (if you change your mind about getting a the puppy near pickup date the deposit is non refundable)."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     I couldn't be happier with my experience with Tropic Dachshunds! I purchased a puppy from them back in February of 2023, and the process couldn't have been smoother. Despite my pick-up date being later than what they had initially wanted, Damian was incredibly accommodating and held my puppy for me until I returned from vacation. When I finally picked up my pup, named Maxium, I was blown away by his demeanor and how well socialized he was. Damian clearly knew his stuff when it came to the dachshund breed, and he made sure to answer any questions I had about caring for Maxium. In fact, Damian's knowledge and kindness were some of the things that really stood out to me during the process. I could tell he genuinely cared about the puppies he was breeding and wanted them to end up in good homes. Overall, I highly recommend Tropic Dachshunds to anyone looking for a furry friend.     Our experience with Tropic Dachshunds could not have been any better. From the first contact we had with Damian we knew we had found our breeder and new puppy. Damian was very professional, quick to respond, and very knowledgeable with all questions we threw his way. He even brought up items we didn't even consider to ask. Within a week of first contact, Damian offered a live FaceTime session so we could meet him and our future puppy Mila. This was a small gesture that went a long way to help instill confidence in the whole process, particularly in today's online age. We stayed in contact almost daily, over a span of almost 4 weeks, right upon pickup day. Damian walked us every step of the way in the process. Because Tropic Dachshunds was within driving distance we did a face- to-face pickup. Not only did we get to meet Damian and Mila, but Mila's dad Bernie. Mila's mom Belle was asleep so we didn't want to bother her but Damian had her availble for us to see. Damian welcomed us into his home with a goodie bag with Mila's paperwork, vaccination and microchip records, some if the food Mila had been eating, a puppy toy, and a blanket with "mom's scent" to help Mila transition into her new home. It has been 3 weeks since we've had Mila home and Damian has followed up a number of times to see how she's adjusting. He suggested some goat milk in Mila's dry food when she was having a little trouble eating that worked beautifully. We are beyond blessed and grateful to have come across Tropic Dachshunds for our new family member. Thank you Damian for making it happen!

    My experience with Tropic Dachshunds has been wonderful. Damian is very kind, responsive, and flexible. I knew exactly what to expect from day 1, and I was able to visit the puppy before pick-up (I live locally).     Tropic Dachshunds was great to work with I specifically worked with Damian. Throughout the entire process Damian answered all my questions throughly and sent me lots of pictures and updates along the way. He also was able to help me with the flight nanny process as well which was a great experience! Damian has a great love for his dogs and takes wonderful care of them, and it really shows in my puppy I think that’s what makes him stand out among other breeders!
