Q. & A. with Hannah

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into breeding began when I got my first Dachshund at 18. I quickly fell in love with the breed and became passionate about learning health, genetics, and responsible breeding. What started with one dog grew into a program focused on raising healthy, well-socialized Miniature Dachshunds. Today, I share that passion alongside my family and two toddlers. 🩵🐾
  • What makes your program special?

At Turquoise River Miniature Dachshunds, we focus on quality over quantity. Our dogs are carefully selected for health, temperament, and structure, and our puppies are raised in a family environment with daily socialization. We specialize in smooth and long-haired Dachshunds and are committed to providing lifelong support to our puppy families. 🩵🐾
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We got Stella from Hannah, she's a great puppy. So cute. Me and fiancé fell in love right when we picked her up. She adapted very nicely to our home. Hannah was great with communication, I do wish we got a couple more pictures to show her growth progress but I also think that anyone would want more videos/pictures of the dog they are going to get and I understand not everyone constantly has time to do that for every puppy.. other than that, Hannah has been great. Would get another puppy from her

My experience getting my mini dachshund puppy was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! The whole process was super easy and smooth, and the breeder was very helpful throughout everything. We met up at a public location for pickup, and she had everything so thoughtfully prepared for me. She sent him home with treats, a toy, a blanket, and a folder filled with all of his important information, including his vet records, shot records, and test results. It made me feel really confident and prepared bringing him home. Once we got home, he settled in so well! He’s the sweetest, cuddliest little guy and spends a lot of his time taking naps and snuggling with me. He has definitely become my little shadow and is attached to me at the hip—he literally follows me everywhere I go. If I’m in another room with the door closed, he’ll sit there and whine because he wants to be right next to me! I couldn’t be happier with him and am so in love with his personality. He has adjusted so well to his new home, and it’s been so sweet watching him get comfortable and become part of my life. I’m so thankful for how easy the whole process was and for all the care and preparation that went into sending him home with me!

Hannah C. was great during the whole process of acquiring our new family member. Before we picked up our new puppy Hannah responded to all of our questions and sent pictures as our little one was growing and thriving. Hannah was very knowledgeable about the breed. We have had miniature long hair dachshunds before and we could tell she had a wealth of knowledge about this breed. When we finally met Hannah and our new puppy we were very pleased with both of them. Upon meeting her she was very loving, clean, well adjusted, and came to us right away. Our puppy is happy, loving and is adjusting to our family here very quickly. We can tell she was well loved by Hannah and her family. We would recommend her very highly.

My husband and I have acquired 2 mini dachshunds from Hannah. We had such a great experience with Hannah. She is quick to answer questions and walk you through the process. We could not be happier with our pups, we unfortunately had a tragic accident with the first puppy we purchased, Hannah was so comforting and reassuring with our situation. Her puppies have the best personality, temperament and oh my goodness, are so adorably precious. I’m sure we will be back for another one in the future.
