Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca I., the breeder behind Twisted Acres Border Collies and Mudi located in Benson, AZ. We're an ethical hobby breeding program with a great amount of education and experience in breeding healthy Border Collies and Mudi! We specialize in producing quality puppies with a focus on structure, temperament, breed standards, working ability, and herding instincts. Our dogs excel as working dogs, show prospects, and as beloved family companions!

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

Border Collies and Mudi are both incredible breeds, and I decided to start my breeding program in order to preserve the wonderful qualities I found in my dogs. They excel both in and out of the show ring. I am dedicated to improving my lines with each generation so that these breeds will continue to thrive for a long time to come. Every litter is always a little different, but it is so fulfilling to see the different personalities and such a joy and challenge to hand-raise each puppy. I love watching them blossom!
  • What makes your program special?

When I bring a life into the world, I make sure it gets the best start possible. This includes proper health care and socialization for each puppy, but it starts even earlier than birth. I set my puppies up for success by carefully selecting the parents of each litter, keeping in mind factors such as health, temperament, ability, structure, and herding instincts. My goal is to choose parents whose genes will bring out the best qualities in each other and produce well-balanced puppies with foundations that nurture curiosity, drive, and obedience.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

This was my first time buying from a breeder! Always got rescues. Rebecca was kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable throughout the whole process! I flew from Michigan to Arizona and the breeder was willing to come at the airport at a crazy hour! I now have my dream dog thanks to twisted acres!
