Meet the breeder

I'm Wendy L., the breeder behind Two Rivers Aussies located in Diamond Springs, CA. Our dogs are bred to breed standard with health and temperament being the most important. We want all of our buyers to be confident that they are getting a healthy family pet to be a member of your family for many years!

Q. & A. with Wendy

  • Why did you start breeding?

One of our good friends had Aussies. We researched the breed extensively and got our 2 boys Jaxson and Stetson. After a couple years of learning and being mentored by another breeder we had our first litters. We continue to learn every day about health testing and genetics.
  • What makes your program special?

We genetic health test and OFA all our Dogs. I work for my veterinarian who does all of the puppies health checks and vaccines. They get the best of care.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Wendy at Two Rivers Aussies has been such a great experience. She was always prompt to reply to me with all of the questions I had leading up to picking up our sweet girl. She made sure to involve us in what was going on with the puppies and would send pictures and videos of our girl to keep us updated. She takes breeding very seriously and wants to make sure her puppies find the right home and you can tell she treats them all like her babies. We are so excited to have our girl home and I know that if we ever consider getting a second dog we will absolutely go through Wendy again. I honestly have nothing negative to say about working with Two Rivers Aussies!

Wendy was a great communicator throughout the process, giving us access to a live webcam of the puppies while we waited for the pick up date. She was always available via text for questions and updates. And on arrival, she provided an extensive binder of medical and breeding history of our new pup.

As far as a breeder goes, Wendy is very involved with whom she blesses with a puppy. Frustratingly so. That is the sign of a very good breeder. We are very happy with our new baby. Wendy made sure that she went home with everything we would need, as well as sage advice. We named her Primrose and could not be more satisfied.

We have been working with Wendy since before this litter was born. She has been very helpful and kept us well informed all through the process. She shared updates on growth and pictures regularly. Wendy conducted a very thorough transition visit so that our puppy was able to become acquainted with us in a low stress environment. Our veterinarian was very impressed with the extensive documentation and care our puppy received.

Wendy at Two Rivers Aussies so obviously cares for each and every puppy and dog at her home. She was very communicative throughout the whole process: sharing pictures of our new puppy, Booker, as he was growing, and thorough with information to set us up for success in the first few weeks of puppy ownership. We love our puppy so much, and highly recommend two Rivers Aussies for anyone looking for their new Australian Shepherd.
