Q. & A. with Lauren
Why did you start breeding?
After being in rescue and fostering over 250 dogs, I saw the good the bad and the ugly. I wanted to produce high quality puppies that would do well in the show ring, and who’s siblings would make happy, healthy pets for families.
What makes your program special?
My dogs are genetic tested and fully tested with the orthopedic foundation for animal. Patellas (rear knees) need 1 exam after the age of 1, eyes and heart are both done yearly for all breeding dogs. Our very first girl, Minnie is the start of my program and I still test her yearly at the age of 7 to ensure puppies will stay healthily into senior age. Parents are also all CH or GCH
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

We had a great experience with Lauren from TwoJs Dachshunds! I have only known Dachshunds because as a child I was raised with two, but then had two in my 30's and 40's. But it wasn't until I got Ginger from Lauren did I know the importance of getting one from a reputable breeder. She had all the appropriate important gene testing done and documented, Ginger was registered with AKA and chipped. Also what was really great was that Lauren had a booklet she gave us on the day of pick up. It had all the great continuing training and important information it. A wonderful guide. Ginger was well on her way to being potty training, she already slept through the night in a crate. I highly recommend Lauren from TwoJs Dachshunds if you want a healthy super bred Mini Dachshund pup. We couldn't be more pleased in the service that was provided and with our gorgeous healthy Ginger we received.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
