I'm Lydia P., the breeder behind Tzu Casa located in Mercedes, TX. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Our journey into breeding began with a meaningful and emotional experience within our family. After taking in a Labrador my daughter found, we hoped to give him a second chance at life. Unfortunately, his time with us was short, and we lost him after only a week. That loss deeply affected my daughter. Wanting to bring comfort back into her life, her teacher—who bred Shih Tzus—introduced us to the breed. We welcomed a Shih Tzu into our home, and it didn’t take long for us to fall in love with their loving nature, loyalty, and joyful personality. That experience sparked our passion for the breed and ultimately led us to begin our breeding program. Today, our goal is to raise Shih Tzus that bring the same comfort, companionship, and happiness into other families’ lives as they did for ours.

    Our Shih Tzus are raised with love from the moment they are born. We treat every puppy as part of our family, giving them the attention, affection, and care they need to thrive. We believe that a well-loved puppy grows into a loyal and joyful companion, and that is exactly what we strive to provide—happy, healthy puppies that bring unconditional love into their new homes.
