Merles are always the most popular, but I think people are sleeping on these beautiful tris! So striking when they have bright blue eyes too!

The Blue Eyed Tri genetics are showing, and should be certain by next week. Lori, Jake, and the blue Merle male all look to have blue eyes (Jake appears to have one blue one brown!). Augustus is showing green eyes currently, which will likely become amber eventually. Newt and July could go either way. They are a beautiful, healthy, playful litter and we are so pleased with them!

Pups are 3 weeks old and had their first outdoor time! Pics updated under each individual puppy.

I had a little fun with AI today and asked it to generate what some of the pups will look like at 8 weeks old assuming they inherit the blue eyed tri gene. Eyes are peeping now, but we won’t know who keeps the baby blues for another couple weeks. Mom is a rock star, all pups are fat, clean, and healthy and she still finds time to snuggle with me and help me do chores outside! Super mom!

All pups had tails docked and dewclaws removed by a vet today, and are doing fabulous. We have had some people ask about leaving their tails, but we do dock unless pups are paid in full prior to the appointment. Not only is it breed standard to dock tails, but I have personally had to have 2 adult dogs tails amputated due to injuries sustained while romping and working in the pasture. It is a much harder procedure to recover from as an adult dog. Therefore we do follow the breed standard of docking and we do it at 2-3 days of age when recovery is fastest.

Dolly had a perfect, healthy litter of 7 today, stay tuned for updates!

Carl and Dolly's litter
Australian Shepherd
About Carl
Carl is super laid back, sweet, playful and a little bit goofy. Loves children and is so patient with them. Well behaved but slow to mature, so that took a little while. Never meets a stranger!
Australian Shepherd
About Dolly
Dolly is loyal to a fault. She is lying on my foot as I type, her favorite place to hang out. Very intelligent and well behaved, even though she is a high energy individual. She likes rules and she likes everyone else to follow them too.
