I'm Shelly M., the breeder behind UP North Dachshunds UPNDLLC located in Michigan And Florida Locations, MI. Purpose-bred Dachshunds with an emphasis on correct structure, health and temperament. Our established program includes 3–4 generations of homebred female lines and AKC Champions we've bred and shown ourselves. We specialize in quality miniature wires and smooths, raised in our home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I've always had animals and as I got older, I wanted a little dog but with big dog ambitions for adventures.
  • What makes your program special?

    Our program is built on decades of hands-on breeding experience and a deep knowledge of our bloodlines. We carefully plan each litter using proven, consistent pedigrees and dogs we know through generations. Our goal is never simply to produce puppies, but to improve with each generation while preserving correct Dachshund type, sound temperament and the qualities we value in the breed.AKC Champion
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include wirehaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, wild boar, brindle, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Shelly partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
